Luna Moon Hare is presented as a book for both children and adults, and so it is. Like the best of the books from my childhood, there are multiple levels to the story. It will resonate with and affect different age groups, and they will take away different things according to their mentality. The heavy use of symbolism, mythology, repetition, rhythm, color and theme make it an ideal text for children and a beautiful experience for adults.

The text itself if a bit long for very small children, but ideal for elementary and middle school children who are still learning about both the physical seasons and the spiritual seasons through which we pass. It talks easily and beautifully about the cycle of the calendar and magical elements. There is an appropriate level of repetition to the text which lends to its use as an instructional tool. Children, after all, love repetition. At that age, they are the most receptive to magical instruction as well, so this book would be a delight to the young pagan family.

The most enchanting element of the book is Ms. Andrew's enchanting illustrations. Ethereal and delicate, they are aesthetically and symbolically appropriate, with natural elements, wonderful use of color and deeply resonating visual themes throughout. Her paintings evoke both the spiritual and the natural world. Adults will pick up more than children about the symbolism of the various goddesses and the natural cycles, but that is part of the joy of this particular book - seeing things that others might not perhaps pick up on.

Overall it is a beautiful piece of work, highly recommended for both children and adults. A lovely story, beautiful prose, and absolutely stunning artwork. A complete experience, one you will want to look through and admire again and again.
