I originally found this book at the library, took it home, looked at it, took it back to the library, and ran out to buy it. I knew I had 'found' something I could understand and use.
Ms. Manning begins the Introduction with:
If you're one of those people who don't believe that you have a soul, you're got the wrong book in your hands, because Cosmic Karma is more than just an astrological guide to the soul - it's an astrological guide for the soul.
As a beginner in astrology, I found this to be a fun, fact-filled book. It is necessary to have a copy of your birth chart to use with this book and the author gives you three Internet locations to obtain a free copy. Of the three listed I preferred Astrolobe, as it had the most information. However, my personal favorite is still from Astro.com, which is not listed.
The author states that, when observed from a spiritual viewpoint, the birth chart is celestial documentation of our soul's commitment to the universe - our purpose. She then guides you through the following sections.
Your Sun Sign: Your Karmic Degree
Where your soul and physical body come together to keep the promise you made to the Universe by creating something the body has worked for and the soul could be proud of - an honorable human life. And you find your Cosmic Theme Song.
Your Sun House: Your Karmic Calling

Where you learn your Neptune Sign and House and how to either balance your karmic scale with inspiration, empathy, and mercy or pay Neptune with our blood, sweat, and tears.
Pluto: Your Karmic Arsenal

I found this to be a delightful book that provides what it promises, a guide to your Universal contract. Her writing style and insights are warm and informative. She seems like a person that I'd love to have coffee with - on a regular basis.
