She smiled to light up the day
We reached high for long
overdue huggs
Walking a spell we soon
parted ways and with a tick of
her tongue she said her goodbyes
Warm with her spirit I turned
away, thinking... for she
was everything we all were
one day, she reminded me of
my own, her love sent
me back to that secret place, Draped
in cobwebs and distant echoes
of some happier time
